Member of Technical Staff: SoC RTL Design Integration

The Person

As a member of the Strategic Silicon Solutions (S3) Business Unit within AMD, your execution will help bring to life customers Special requirements for designs to be used in a broad range of products, from tablets to gaming consoles to servers and more. You will be working closely with architecture, IP design, SoC implementation team, DFX, Design Verification team and physical design team to achieve first pass silicon success. A successful candidate will work with senior silicon design engineers. The candidate will be highly accurate and detail-oriented, possessing good communication and problem-solving skills.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Support the SoC Design and Integration team on project execution.
• Build complex SoC Design with multiple internal/external IP integration and design quality checks.
• Work with architects and design team to understand the product specification, clock structure, power management, interconnect and AMD chiplet based infrastructure. 
• Interface with the architecture team, power team, IP design team, SoC integration team, Design Verification and Physical design team to identify complex technical issues/risks and optimize the implementation efficiency and cost.
• You should be familiar with SoC level Clock and Reset, low power design, UPF, CDC/RDC/LINT, DFT, repeaters, top level integration of connectivity, system bus, peripherals and ARM.
• Scope and analyze new design opportunities. 
• Actively work to improve SOC development process continuously.
• We are looking for someone who is technically hands on and a great team player.

 PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

• Outstanding foundation in Systems & SoC architecture, with expertise in one or more of the following: CPU or GPU, Memory sub-system, Fabrics, CPU/GPU coherency, Multimedia, I/O subsystems, Clocks, Resets, Virtualization and Security
• Experience analyzing CPU, GPU or System-level Micro-Architectural features to identify performance bottlenecks within different workloads
• Demonstrated expertise in power management microarchitecture, low power design and power optimization, along with power impact at architecture, logic design, and circuit levels
• Excellent communication, management, and presentation skills.
• Adept at collaboration among top-thinkers and senior architects with strong interpersonal skills to work across teams in different geographies
• Experience with SoC architecture and RTL coding in Verilog.
• Prior experience in integrating and compiling complex SOC models with multiple proprietary and third-party IP
• Experience with IP delivery process and methodologies
• BSEE/MSEE Electrical Engieering or Computer Engineering
• 8+ years of ASIC development experience including familiarity with the entire ASIC development process and tools
