Shader Design Engineer - 510

 

THE ROLE: 

 

The Shader (SIMD Processor) design team is looking for a candidate who will  assume ownership of complex designs that will be used in  next generation  graphics products. The candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing  complex features from microarchitecture specifications of the digital block.

 

THE PERSON:  

You have a passion for modern, complex processor architecture, digital design, and verification in general. You are a team player who has excellent communication skills and experience collaborating with other engineers located in different sites/time zones. You have strong analytical and problem-solving skills and are willing to learn and ready to take on problems. 

Key responsibilities: 

  • Work with Architects and micro-architecture of unit designs and  write design specifications
  • Plan, Execute and Track new features at IP level.
  • Implement complex features in Verilog and factor in all the tradeoffs that are necessary for the design (area/power/performance/timing)
  • Synthesis and timing closure in co-ordination with Physical Design team and SoC teams
  • Closely work with block architect to understand design trade-offs  
  • Co-ordinating design, verification and implementation activities at IP level

Preferred skills:

  • Requires very strong understanding of computer architecture.
  • Industry experience  on logic design and physical design.
  • Prior experience with graphics design and pipelining preferred.
  • Experience using industry standard tools (VCS, Verdi) and adapt to proprietary tools.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently as well as in a cross-site team environment.

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:  

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in computer engineering/Electrical Engineering
