MTS PROTOTYPING SYSTEMS ENGINEER  

  

THE ROLE: 

We are seeking individuals with a desire to address challenging problems on daily basis. Virtual Bring-Up (VBU) is a premiere central methodology team that strives towards excellence, utilizes novel industry technologies and comes up with innovative ways to address execution challenges.

  

THE PERSON:  

As part of VBU, you will work across AMD's product portfolio to develop and enable methodology and tools to tackle key design cycle challenges for the company by leveraging acceleration, hardware emulation and prototyping technologies. You will have a serious level of opportunity to learn, grow and excel in this role.

  

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:  

 

Prototyping IP development and support

  • FPGA-based infrastructure IP development and support
  • Integration and support of transactor solutions for FPGA prototyping
  • Support integration of existing IP in new platforms and workflows
  • Validate existing IP on new architectures
  • Characterization and qualification of hardware systems and infrastructure (cables, etc.)
  • Enablement and support of internal userbase

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:  

  • Fluent in Verilog/SystemVerilog
  • Expertise in RTL design
  • Understanding of FPGA architecture
  • Working knowledge of Gigabit Transceivers is desirable
  • AMD Vivado Synthesis
  • Design constraints, including working with SDC/XDC
  • Simulation tools (XSIM, VCS, Xcelium)
  • TCL scripting for EDA toolflows
  • Knowledge of Makefiles and shell scripting is a bonus
  • Awareness of bus protocols, especially ARM AMBA
  • Strong debugging skills

  

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:  

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in computer engineering or electrical engineering
