MTS SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER 

THE ROLE: 

AMD is looking for a specialized software engineer who is passionate about improving the performance of key applications and benchmarks. You will be a member of a core team of incredibly talented industry specialists and will work with the very latest hardware and software technology.  

MTS, Forwarding Software (VPP/DPDK)The MTS, Forwarding Software role is responsible for building forwarding software for Pensando ASICsResponsibilities

Design, develop and validate system forwarding software using C/C++ on Linux OS.
Implement networking Layer2/Layer3/Layer4 system functionalities using VPP including development of new plugins/graph nodes to assist/setup hardware based packet forwarding.
Understand/debug P4 based harwdare pipeline packet forwarding.
Performance profiling and tuning software on arm based architectures.
Assist the verification process of software with test cases in Python.
Validate ASIC functionality by writing and running test cases against ASIC software model, ASIC simulation and production hardware.Qualifications
BS in Computer Science or equivalent.
5+ years of professional software development experience in the field of networking systems or related fields.
Strong SW design, very good C programming skills and working knowledge of C++, Python.
Prior experience with software data plane applications such as VPP/equivalent.
Working knowledge of data plane forwarding in Network ASICs.
Experience with L2/L3/L4 Forwarding software development.
Experience with networking ASIC functionality verification.
Good interpersonal skills and effective communication.
