MTS SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER

THE ROLE:

AMD Custom Solutions Team has seen phenomenal growth and we are recruiting a fast learning, dynamic software design engineer. The team is responsible for delivering next generation software solutions targeting cloud and data center customers. This position will offer a strong career path within a fast-paced environment where you will develop your skills working with the latest cutting-edge Processor and FPGA technology, tools and next-generation architecture.

THE PERSON:

The ideal candidate should be passionate about software engineering and possess leadership skills to drive sophisticated issues to resolution. Able to communicate effectively and work optimally with different teams across AMD.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Specify and develop Software for use in Linux (userspace and kernel) and standalone products
Architect, design and implement software subsystems to control FPGA hardware solutions
Collaborate closely with multiple teams and Project Managers to deliver highly scalable, durable, and innovative solutions

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

Experience with C/C++
Experience with driver and infrastructure development for a Linux environment
Experience in low level driver development, register interface programming, general algorithms and data structures.
Experience with embedded processors such as ARM
Experience with industrial standard devices e.g. Ethernet TCP/UDP, PCIe and Memory architectures DDR/SDRAM/DMA
Experience in high performance compute, storage or network acceleration
Knowledge of system level security data (packet) flows for L2/L3 and L4/L7 security protocols
Client-Server architecture; API knowledge
SSL/TLS , IPSec (Open Source programming models) experience is an advantage
Experience in HDL design on FPGA platforms is an advantage
Experience in the areas of virtualization, networking frameworks (DPDK, OVS), Network Function Virtualization (NFV) is an advantage
Experience in deep learning targeting quantized neural network inference on FPGAs is an advantage
Scripting language experience like Perl, Python or TCL is an advantage
Proven track record of delivering software projects that exceed customer quality expectations
Experience in writing technical documentation, including Specifications, Test Plans and User Guides.
A self-starter and team player, with a positive attitude and good inter-personal skills

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
Minimum Experience:
Bachelor’s degree + 7 years
Master’s degree + 6 years
PhD + 3 years
