MTS SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER 

THE ROLE: 

You will be part of a cross-disciplinary team responsible for the user experience of AMD’s graphics products. To this end, you will be charged with researching cutting-edge technologies and collaborating with multiple software functional teams to deliver the best possible user experience to our end-users.

THE PERSON: 

The ideal candidate should be passionate about software engineering and possess leadership skills to drive sophisticated issues to resolution. A proven C++ developer with prior experience in object-oriented design and application development for the Windows environment. Able to communicate effectively and work optimally with different teams across AMD.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Design, develop, and maintain core technologies for innovative applications on AMD platforms.
• Promptly triage and resolve quality and performance issues raised by customers and QA.
• Work closely with product managers and teams from other functional areas to gather and document software requirements.
• Actively participate in design reviews and code reviews.
• Develop technical relationships with peers and partners.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 

• Strong object-oriented programming background, C/C++ preferred.
• 4+ years developing Windows desktop applications.
• Ability to write high quality code with a keen attention to detail.
• Experience with modern concurrent programming and threading APIs 
• Experience with software development processes and tools such as debuggers, source code control systems (GitHub).
• Effective communication and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with any of the following are a plus:
  • UI development with QT and QML
  • Multimedia programming, audio or video processing and streaming
  • Mobile app development
  • DirectX, OpenGL, OpenCL, DirectML programming
  • Network programming and communication protocols

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: 

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer/Electrical/Software Engineering, or related field.
