MTS SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER – IC Evaluation
THE ROLE:
At AMD, we are leading the industry transformation to build an adaptable, intelligent world. From self-driving cars to world-record genome processing, to AI and big data, to the world's first 5G networks, we empower the world's builders and visionaries whose ideas solve everyday problems and improve people's lives.
The Analog Mixed Signal team design high performance analog and digital circuits such as ADCs, DACs, references, sensors and high-speed interfaces which are integrated into FPGA devices. These devices are used in a variety of applications such as automotive, wireless communications and medical imaging. AMD is looking for a specialized software engineer; the successful candidate will work as part of a team supporting the qualification, application, and deployment of these products in customers systems.

THE PERSON:
The ideal candidate should be passionate about software engineering and possess leadership skills to drive sophisticated issues to resolution. Able to communicate effectively and work optimally with different teams across AMD.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop lab software for validation and characterization of new IC designs.
- Participate in new IC software and hardware bring ups.
- Debug/fix existing issues and research alternative, more efficient ways to accomplish the same work.
- Develop technical relationships with peers and partners.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Strong expertise in NI LabView required to develop advanced RF Data Converter sub systems required.
- Expertise in NI TestStand required.
- Python programming experience is very valuable.
- Knowledge of embedded Linux is useful.
- Certified LabVIEW Developer (CLD), or higher, preferred.
- Experience of typical electronic device lab usage.
- MatLab/SimuLink skills and DSP knowledge is very welcome.
- Customer facing experience very valuable.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills are required.
- Ability to work well as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving skills needed.
- 3 to 10 years of relevant working experience
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science, or equivalent.
