THE ROLE:  

We are looking for a dynamic, self-driven, motivated, and highly talented Board Hardware design and Test engineer with a strong experience in design and test of analog/high speed digital boards to join the Board Development team at AMD, Penang, MY.  You will have an opportunity to work in a positive environment where individual development goals are aligned with organizational goals in developing products for some of the life changing and futuristic applications. 

THE PERSON:  

As a Board Hardware Design and Test Engineer,you will be involved in the design and test of high performance, complex boards for some of the most advanced applications in High Performance Computing/AI/Machine Learning/5G Wireless.   

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:  

• Responsible for HW design and test of board products using AMD ASIC/RFSoC/MPSoC/ASoC/FPGAs and other devices
• Responsible for board hardware bringup testing, DVT and qualification testing of boards
• Preparation of hardware board bring-up and test document
• Responsible for all aspects of board design and documentation of designs
• Responsible for schematic and layout reviews.
• Component selection, Schematic entry, Bill of materials (BOM) creation and release in Agile
• Passion to learn new technologies and implement in design and test
• Support Manufacturing test and debug of proto/production boards at assembly house (CM, Contract Manufacturer) as required. 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:  

• 7-10 Years of Board Hardware Design and Test experience
• Experience in board bring-up, functional & DVT testing
• Experience in thermal and compliance testing is desirable
• Self-motivated, and good communication skills
• Excellent problem-solving skills

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:  

• Bachelors or Masters degree in electrical/electronics or computer engineering.
