Job Role and Responsibility: Xilinx, Inc., a subsidiary of AMD, Inc., is hiring MTS Systems Design Engineers to oversee definition, design, verification, and document for ASIC development. Create hardware validation platforms and debug complex issues involving both hardware and software. Develop hardware systems for pre-silicon and silicon validation of our advanced FPGA families. Use both commercial emulation systems and FPGA-based platforms for prototyping. On silicon, develop boards to functionally validate the latest silicon features. Our most recent efforts have been directed towards Versal ACAPs. Develop emulation/prototype systems using FPGA and other technologies. Create FPGA-based validation designs based upon embedded processors such as ARM Cortex A72, A53 and other hard IP within Xilinx FPGAs. Develop and execute verification plans - debug issues in simulation and hardware. Develop novel methods for system-level modeling and validation. Provide feedback to architecture and design teams on product features and implementation.

Qualifications: Degree required
Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
Qualifications: Amount and type of experience required: 3 years’ experience as Senior Product Applications Engineer or related occupation.
Alternate combination of education and experience: Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related field plus 5 years progressive experience in position or related occupation.
Specific skills required: The following skills are required:
Must have at least 1 year of prior work experience in the following:
- Verilog and VHDL hardware design languages, simulation and debug;
- FPGAs, Vivado and FPGA synthesis tools including Synopsys Synplify;
- Developing system or IP prototypes using FPGAs;
- Software debug with C/C++ and low-level assembly languages;
- Computer architecture and embedded systems;
- Board design and debug; and
- Scripting languages including Tcl, Unix shells, Makefiles, Perl or Python.
