About the Role:

We are seeking a talented Narrative Designer to join our team, dedicated to creating, implementing, and refining groundbreaking story-driven experiences. As a vital contributor to our game's narrative execution, the Narrative Designer will work in close collaboration with the Design team, artists, and engineers to ensure the seamless integration of the story into the game.



What you'll do:

  • Help develop compelling, engaging, and immersive dialogue and narrative system experiences.
  • Work with the Mode designer and Creative Director to determine dialogue events, rules and provide supplemental writing for the game's characters and narrative choices. 
  • Implement in-game dialogue and conversation using in-house narrative tools.
  • Writing and revising in-game dialogue and player-facing text.
  • Generate compelling dialogue and story ideas for non-linear narratives.

You will have:

  • You have a passion for game narrative, writing and interactive storytelling.
  • You've gained demonstrable experience as a narrative designer or game writer.
  • You possess strong writing, organizational, and technical skills.
  • In-depth understanding of narrative structure and what makes an emotional impact to players.
  • Experience with game scripting systems or equivalent.
  • Ability to write, communicate and maintain design documentation.
  • Familiarity with branching dialogue and interaction mechanics.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills.
  • Ability to articulate feedback and apply notes from multiple sources.
  • Knowledge of narrative and script writing tools a plus, but not required
  • Proven experience working within the gaming industry

 



BC COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

The base salary ranges listed below are for the defined geographic market pay zones in these locations. If you reside outside of these locations, a recruiter will advise on the base salary range and benefits for your specific location.

Salary offered will be determined based on numerous relevant business and candidate factors including, for example, education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and business or organizational needs.

BASE SALARY RANGES

• British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria):
º $89,300 - $123,000 CAN Annually

Base salary is just one part of the overall compensation at EA. We also offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, and extended health/dental/vision coverage and basic life insurance.
