The Label publishes the Kerbal Space Program franchise, Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey from Panache Digital Games, The Outer Worlds from Obsidian Entertainment, Disintegration from V1 Interactive, and OlliOlli World from Roll7, with future unannounced projects in development with Moon Studios, Die Gute Fabrik, Evening Star, Piccolo Studio, Yellow Brick Games, and other esteemed independent developers. Private Division publishes the physical retail edition of Hades from Supergiant Games on PlayStation® and Xbox consoles. Private Division continues to build its internal studio capacity, with Roll7 and Intercept Games as internal developers for the Label. Private Division has offices in New York City, Seattle, Las Vegas, Munich, and Singapore.
The Challenge:
What You’ll Take On
Work with development studios to develop and support game server and data storage infrastructure needs for current and future games
Maintain Back-end Infrastructure (including deployment, maintenance, troubleshooting, optimizing and upgrading)
Own overall service health, performance, monitoring, security, and integration
Build, update and maintain dashboards to monitor and respond to game critical KPIs (key performance indicators)
Develop tools and automation to enhance business productivity and efficiency
Own service load testing strategy and optimization
Support multiple independent development studios with diverse initiatives
Make recommendations on improving product quality as well as group productivity, helping to identify and raise issues and risks to the various production teams
Plan, communicate, and perform maintenances and general off hour work as needed
Travel, both domestic and international, may be required
What You Bring
3 - 5 Years industry experience as a DevOps Engineer
Expert working knowledge and experience in a high-volume production environment with AWS, Azure, and/or GCP workloads
Proven working knowledge of Docker and AWS at scale: EKS, RDS (SQL, Postgres), ElastiCache (Redis).
High-level proficiency and experience in Shell Scripting within a production environment.
Proven working knowledge of Terraform and Jenkins
Experience with Grafana, CloudWatch, Tableau, or a similar analytics platforms
Experience with the Unity Game Engine or Unreal Game Engine
A deep desire to learn and contribute to the creation of new games.
Contribute to a culture of curiosity, empathy and mutual respect.
Is comfortable learning new methods and tools and teaching others.
Excellent organizational, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
Able to gain and maintain the respect and trust of development teams through thoughtful discussion and perseverance.

The pay range for this position in New York City at the start of employment is expected to be between $90,000 and $110,400 per year. However, base pay offered is based on market location, and may vary further depending on individualized factors for job candidates, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to those same considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a bonus and/or equity awards, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an "at-will position" and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
