THE TEAM:

AMD's Data Center GPU organization is transforming the industry with our AI based Graphic Processors. THE ROLE: 

The successful candidate will assume responsibility for post-silicon activities related to performance characterization and optimization of AMD Datacenter products 

THE PERSON: 

You have a passion for computer architecture, along with knowledge of HPC and ML workloads. You are a team player who has excellent communication skills and experience collaborating with other engineers located in different sites/time zones. Must be a quick learner, self-starter and be able to drive multiple tasks to completion. 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Become a key stakeholder in power and performance definition process 
  • Develop and Execute performance characterization and optimization test plans for different usage scenarios (High performance compute, Machine learning frameworks, etc.). 
  • Analyzing interactions between various power management features and optimize their configurations for  performance  
  • Exploit core architecture bottlenecks to test and mitigate worst case scenarios 
  • Support prototyping experiments for improving current and implementing new features that impact performance 
  • Debugging and troubleshooting system-level issues that may occur in test environments and platforms 
  • Proactively driving continuous improvement for post-silicon performance activities
  • Workload automation for performance data collection

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 

  • Strong programming skills: Strong preference for Python, TensorFlow
  • Desirable to be proficient in C or C++, PHP and Shell scripting
  • Good understanding of computer organization/architecture.
  • Strong understanding of HPC and ML workloads
  • Strong analytical  and problem-solving skills with a key attention to detail
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills 

 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: 

Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Engineering/Electrical Engineering/Computer Science/Software Engineering
