THE ROLE:

Ensure AMD Datacenter GPU systems are designed to offer the highest reliability and performance in the industry. Ensure the signal/power integrity of all interfaces in the system. Ensure board materials, stack-ups, cables, connectors are chosen to support signaling speeds. Ensure validation correlates to simulation data.

 

Drive internal and supplier teams to move at the fastest achievable pace while delivering quality work. Always work with urgency, with quality and time to market in mind. 

 

Become intimately familiar with internal simulation tool, and AMD modeling methodologies. Support package design while considering the entire channel. Drive board design with a manufacturability point of view.

 

Achieve product performance and quality targets at least cost.

 

THE PERSON:

Deep understanding of high speed, single ended, and serial links. Ability to invent. Likes to be informed on the latest innovations in the field. Comfortable debugging in the datacenter, or the lab. Comfortable working around engineers of all levels of expertise.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Drive ODMs to follow AMD layout guidelines, and support deviations. Ensure validation plan execution, and SERDES tuning to achieve desired product BER. 
  • Own and drive signal integrity on AMD’s first rack level product for the datacenter.

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Extensive signal integrity experience developing datacenter products.
  • Clear history of industry leading work.

 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • BS Degree in Electrical Engineering required.
