The Role

As a Senior SoC (System on Chip) Product Planner in the AI Group at AMD, you will be involved in driving our cutting-edge technology roadmap. You will have the opportunity to use your extensive industry experience and knowledge in AI/ML and DSP processing to conceptualize, strategize, and lead the development of advanced SoC products. This role requires a solid understanding of the semiconductor industry, advanced technologies, market trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape.

 

The Person

The type of person who will be successful in this role is highly collaborative, and willing to trailblaze and champion new ideas. You should exhibit excellent written and verbal communication skills and will be highly analytical and strategic. Prior work experience in accelerated machine learning and signal processing is strongly preferred.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the definition of AI/ML and DSP features for AMD SoC products. Use your knowledge of market requirements, customer feedback and competitive landscape to propose innovative solutions for next-generation SoCs.
  • Make device-level trade-off decisions: Regularly evaluate the interplay between power, performance, area and cost (PPCA) at the device level. Leverage your experience in SoC domains to make informed decisions that balance these factors to meet product and market requirements.
  • Act as a technical leader to drive cross-functional teams towards successful product realization and launch.
  • Develop and communicate the product roadmap to a wide range of stakeholders including senior management, sales, marketing, and engineering.
  • Evaluate emerging trends, technologies, industry standards and their potential impact on our SoC portfolio.
  • Represent AMD at industry forums, customer meetings, and other external events.
  • Oversee lifecycle management of the product, including definition, launch, and end-of-life processes.

Preferred Experience in following skills

  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in product planning, product management, or related roles in the semiconductor industry.
  • Proven track record in leading the development and launch of successful SoC products.
  • Excellent understanding of SoC architectures, fabrication processes, and design principles.
  • Experience with semiconductor IP, standards, and ecosystem.
  • Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills. Ability to effectively articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • A team player with strong leadership and collaboration skills.

 

Academic Credentials

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. A Master's degree or Ph.D. is preferred.
