AMD, Inc., is hiring PMTS Software Development Engineer to research, design, develop, and/or test operating systems-level software, compilers, and/or network distribution software for semiconductor operations, applying principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis. Plan, design, develop and/or test software systems for software enhancements and new products. Set operational specifications and formulate and/or analyze software requirements. Serve as technical leader across project and departmental boundaries. Build and manage team to develop new technologies and evaluate new businesses opportunities. Contributes to the development of product strategy and provides technical leadership in the development of new products, processes or technologies in support of this strategy. Develop high performance. Orientated computing software for AMDs heterogeneous computing platform, Radeon open compute (ROCM); perform high-level coding, profiling, optimizing and validating GPU compute kernels with system-level software.

Qualifications: Degree required
Master’s degree in software engineering, computer engineering, computer science, computer information systems, electrical engineering, or electronics engineering. Foreign equivalent degree accepted.

Qualifications: Amount and type of experience required: Seven (7) years of experience in the job offered or closely related software engineering role.

Alternate combination of education and experience: Employer will accept alternate combination of education and experience: Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in software engineering, computer engineering, computer science, computer information systems, electrical engineering, or electronics engineering, and nine (9) years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered, or closely related software engineering role.

Specific skills required: The following skills are required:
With either combination of education or experience, position requires four (4) years of experience with the following technologies and/or skills:

  • PYTHON, JAVA, JAVASCRIPT, OR C++;
  • APIS, COMPILERS, OR KERNELS;
  • OBJECT-ORIENTED DESIGN, ADVANCED ALGORITHMS, COMPUTER ARCHITECTURE, OR MULTI-THREADING; AND
  • LINUX, UNIX, OR REAL-TIME OPERATING SYSTEMS.
