THE ROLE:
Technical lead responsible for Datacenter Server SoC Post-Silicon system validation and enablement at the silicon SoC level up through BIOS, system firmware, and OS levels on AMD Server products. This person will be responsible for test plan development, execution, and path clearing problems for a cross geography team on next generation AMD EPYC SoCs.
THE PERSON:
This person will be responsible for test plan development, execution, and path clearing problems for a cross geography team on next generation AMD EPYC SoCs. The person will be a self-starting team player with excellent communication skills who can work with minimal guidance. A forward thinker that drives improvement to development process, code architecture and fosters a spirit of innovation and continuous improvement. This person will possess strong verbal and written English communication skills.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Drive server post silicon system validation execution progress within the team in an At-Scale or Data Center farm cluster.
- Deliver status on program progress using std tools like Power BI.
- Path clear obstacles for the team
- Maintain effective communication across a multi geography team
- Develop and execute feature enablement and validation test plans for SoC- and system-level SoC features across all AMD Server products.
- Lead and drive the develop on post-silicon validation infrastructure (software, hardware, automation environment, and lab setup) as well as long term validation methodology for At-Scale farm clusters.
- Test interactions between various SoC features using validation infrastructure
- Debug and drive root-cause analysis for SoC related issues
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams in developing tools to improve SoC validation and debug
- Work with cross-functional teams to improve post-silicon validation test strategy, methodology, and process
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
- Experience with PC architecture and microprocessor cores.
- Understanding of modern x86 microprocessor architecture and Server platform architecture is highly desired.
- Experience developing validation methodologies and using scalable automation infrastructure.
- Proven experience on leading and driving system validation efforts on large scalable Server farms and data center.
- Test plan and test development experience.
- Participated in silicon bring up and debug, support to internal engineering teams.
- Able to execute and drive success of programs with multiple projects. Guide the team with appropriate priorities in multi-program conflicts.
- Debug skills at both SoC and system level.
- Familiarity with managing large data sets in MS Excel or similar data management tools and navigating trends and test failures.
- Familiarity with programming / scripting language (C/C++, Python, Perl, ...)
- Must be a self-starting team player with excellent communication skills who can work with minimal guidance.
- Forward thinker that drives improvement to development process, code architecture and fosters a spirit of innovation and continuous improvement.
- Strong verbal and written English communication skills.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Detailed working knowledge of Server OSes (Linux, Windows, VMware)
- Understanding of key server system use cases eg: virtualization loads, power cycling & system reset flows is key.
- Self-organizing, motivated and demonstrated leadership to lead cross geo and functional teams and the ability multitask based on priorities.
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical/Computer Engineering or Electronics / Computer Science related.
- Solid years of experience in SoC system validation and debug.
