THE ROLE:

Searching for applicants with a strong background in EM/IR analysis. The ideal candidate is comfortable with digital and analog IC design, is familiar with EM/IR concepts for both analog (xtor-level) and digital (gate-level) designs and the associated EDA tools (Totem, Redhawk, Redhawk SC). Since this is a CAD role, the candidate should also be comfortable with object-oriented programming and scripting languages like Perl or Python. Preferred to also have experience debugging circuit behavior using spice or spectre/aps simulation. Finally, the candidate should be able to communicate effectively in a cross-functional role, possess strong organizational skills, and have a strong sense of teamwork.

THE PERSON:

You have a passion for modern, complex processor architecture, digital design, and verification in general. You are a team player who has excellent communication skills and experience collaborating with other engineers located in different sites/timezones. You have strong analytical and problem-solving skills and are willing to learn and ready to take on problems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining Perl-based CAD wrapper flows for transistor-level and gate-level EM/IR analysis.
  • Running daily or weekly regressions to identify tool/flow issues and qualify new tool releases.
Providing tool/flow support to designers, helping them debug issues in their constraints or in their designs.
  • Working with EDA tool vendors to drive bug-fixes and tool enhancements.
  • Pioneering new CAD development on next generation flows and tools related to EM/IR

Preferred Experience:

  • Background in EM/IR analysis
  • Background in both digital and analog IC design
  • Familiar with industry tools: Totem, Redhawk, Redhawk SC
  • Familiar with object-oriented programming and scripting languages: Perl, Python, C-shell, TCL
  • Excellent communication skills: candidate should be open and proactive about seeking customer feedback

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

Bachelors or Masters degree in computer engineering/Electrical Engineering

LOCATIONS:

Santa Clara, CA or Austin, TX

COMPENSATION RANGE:
