Apex Legends is looking for a Principal Game Designer on our Event Team who will help us plan and execute event content each season. You will work on eventized experiences and systems that focus on player retention, engagement and satisfaction. Creating can’t miss moments, and unique gameplay experiences that delight our players.

You have experience on a live service game, and have worked on a wide range of content including modes, mechanics, weapons, progression, maps, and others . You have experience collaborating with multiple departments and individuals to collect a number of different features into a cohesive event package.

What You'll Do…

  • Own, direct, and communicate the design vision for a full event design package, including multiple content types such as modes, mechanics, progression systems, lobby and menus, rewards, maps, and other elements.
  • Work closely with studio leadership, product, marketing, and creative teams to align event teams and content with franchise goals and vision.
  • Hold and communicate the vision for events to your collaborators in other departments, leadership, and the team at large.
  • Coordinate with research, data, and analytics teams to measure the success of the content we design, contextualize and communicate key takeaways to the team, and apply learnings to future designs.
  • Ensure a high quality release, directing teams and individuals through the entire event design process from ideation to submission.
  • Assist in establishing and maintaining a process for building event content and planning an event roadmap for the foreseeable future.

Ideally, you also will have…

  • 5+ years experience as a game designer on a live service F2P game, which shipped and was live during your time on the project.
  • Experience designing and maintaining seasonal or event based content in a live service F2P game.
  • Experience collaborating with other internal teams, especially UI/UX, UXR, analytics, product, and marketing to design compelling and thematically aligned gameplay experiences for players.
  • Strong track record of coordinating multiple work streams simultaneously to ensure work is aligned and cohesive within a larger design concept.
  • Experience in mentoring other designers on best practices for live service games, and helping a design team achieve their best work within the constraints of time, technical limitations, and available resources.
