Principal, DPPM Data Center Architect 

 

Server DPPM Data Center Architect

As a Server DPPM Data Center Architect, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the architecture and software implementation of the At-scale processor system test.  Your expertise will be critical in determining the DPPM of AMD Server products and ensuring it meets customer expectations. In this role, you will drive software improvements in testing, failure identification, and debugging process while collaborating with Hardware System Engineering teams, IT teams, and other stakeholders.

The Candidate:

We are looking for a dynamic Processor Test Data Center Architect to join our growing AMD Server Platform Validation Team, focusing on Epyc processors. The successful candidate should have a solid understanding of the general silicon manufacturing engineering process, strong software development experience, and excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop technical specifications and processes for the DPPM Data Center to identify manufacturing issues and logical failures.
  • Create software for the At-scale automated test DPPM Data Center, collaborating with platform, silicon, debug tools, IT teams, and other stakeholders.
  • Drive continuous technical improvements in testing, failure identification, and the debugging process.
  • Collaborate with debug and manufacturing teams to identify root causes of key product issues and manufacturing blockers in a Data Center environment.
  • Enhance validation and debugging capabilities and methodology by addressing common challenges and collaborating with partner organizations to innovate platform architecture, design, tools, and methods.
  • Manage and track technical issues, risks, and priorities, and handle executive communications regarding program status, risks, and opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in programming languages like C/C++, Java.  
  • Excellent Linux and scripting language skills (Python, Perl, Ruby, Bash, Docker)
  • Strong experience in database management, including SQL, noSQL, Mongo, etc.
  • Experience in automated test infrastructure and developing automated tests.
  • Solid understanding of datacenter platform hardware, Operating System, Device Drivers, and System BIOS interactions.
  • Outstanding communication and coordination skills.
  • Proven experience as a technical team lead.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in semiconductor debug, fault isolation, failure analysis, and/or product engineering yield debug.
  • Knowledge of System-level debug and correlation to ATE.
  • Strong background in probability and statistics, including DOE's.
  • Experience in product and test engineering, specializing in silicon debug or FA/FI.
  • Knowledge of DFD and DFT technologies.
  • Experience in defining and coding debug tools.

Academic Credentials:

  • BS or MS degree in Software Engineering or a related major with 7+ years of applicable experience.
