Our Graphics Features Group is focused on advancing how content is authored and built and developing new technologies to drive the edge of what's possible for development on multiple platforms. With an eye toward the future and sustainability, we relentlessly pursue solutions that seek to improve the feature development experience for real-time 3D.

As the Architect of the Graphics Features team, you are going to be in the unique position of helping to establish Unity’s forward looking tech stack and evolving the way our users approach feature development. In this role, you will be responsible for aligning the overall vision and architecture of our features offering. You will collaborate with the product teams, other developers as well as our design, documentation and tech art teams to help define priorities and build a successful landing path for our technologies throughout Unity's creation ecosystem. You will be leading the way to ensure our graphics features open new doors and ways of working and improve the lives of millions of Unity creators!

What you'll be doing

  • Architect and hold the vision for our graphics features team to ensure that Unity graphics leads the industry and sets new bars for what can be achieved with our graphics offering
  • Closely collaborate with our other developers, technical artists and product designers to create end-to-end architectures and systems
  • Combine novel techniques with maximum efficiency by learning the specific operation of our hardware platform targets
  • Research, design, and  guide the implementation of innovative approaches to solving problems in real-time content creation, as complete solutions
  • Enthusiastically share your deep expertise in the area of rendering to help build a stronger community of graphics excellence, while mentoring and providing guidance and leadership

What we’re looking for

  • Passionate rendering enthusiasts who operate with empathy and respect and care to work in a collaborative, supportive, thriving team
  • Extensive knowledge in real-time graphics, state of the art rendering techniques, modern computer APIs and hardware architectures. You know how to get the most out of GPUs and CPUs.
  • Programming skills (C#/C++/Shading Languages)
  • Initiative to push boundaries and a strong desire to build outstanding technologies
  • Excellent familiarity with the modern engine systems and rendering architectures and experience working on real-world productions including 5+ years of professional render pipeline and/or games development experience
  • Mentoring experience and the ability to provide expert guidance and leadership

You might also have

  • Knowledge of working on large multi-platform engines and Unity engine
  • First-hand experience with content creation pipelines for graphics content and working with artists on real-world productions, as well shipped games on mobile or consoles | PCs
