THE ROLE:
The AMD Data Center GPU Remote Management team is looking for an experienced Data Center and embedded level security solution firmware development engineer. As part of the role, the PMTS Engineer will work closely with system architects, corporate security office, other firmware developers, system validation engineers, and board designers to deliver a datacenter quality solution. The successful applicant will be part of the growing Out of Band group of the Datacenter Graphics & Accelerated Processing business focused on the High Performance and Machine Learning/AI markets.
THE PERSON:
- You are a person who has strong overall solution experience and ability to collaborate with various engineering / test teams along with very strong implementation skills.
- You are a motivated, self-starter who can work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
- You have excellent technical communication, interpersonal and leadership skills.
- You are comfortable working in different operating system environments including Windows and Linux.
- You are a team player with strong communication skills, resourceful and can work in a dynamic environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- To design and lead the implementation of standard compliant security solutions, including FW development targeting various embedded devices, for next generation of GPU products. Example of FW development includes implementation of industry standard and proprietary protocols, Secure Boot/update solutions, targeting both dedicated IC (e.g., ROT) and stand-alone devices.
- In this capacity, this security solution firmware development engineer will also interact with 3rd party vendors and customers to ensure requirements are understood and solutions provide the required capabilities.
- Help Architect automated test environment.
- Collaborate with tools and validation team to implement emulation of end customer systems.
- Define validation test plans.
- Test for protocol compliance.
- Leading multi-disciplinary debug efforts.
- Follow and improve quality processes (code reviews, CI, code test generations)
- Design for Quality.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum 10yrs experience in security application architecture, development, and implementation.
- Minimum 10yrs experience in firmware and test development for embedded systems.
- Strong experience with: OCP Secure Boot, DMTF PMCI SPDM and MCTP, Root of Trust, Security Certificate, Certificate provisioning, Component and FW Attestation, OCP Security WG Ownership Transfer, NIST CAVP, Trusted Execution Environment, Trust Boundaries, SBOM, Security Threat Model analysis, Pen testing, Anti-rollback, FW signing, Crypto algorithm (SHA, ECC, HMAC, AES…)
- Familiarity with: OCP Caliptra, TCG DICE.
- Software Programming and scripting experience (Python, bash, C/C++) in Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Experience with Rust a plus.
- Able to read and interpret board schematics.
- PC/server environment H/W and S/W setup and administration.
- Familiarity with various embedded protocols including I2C, I3C, SPI, USB, PCIe, TCP/IP, etc.
- Experience with AMD (Xilinx) FPGAs security features a strong plus.
- Experience with Baseboard Management Controllers (BMC)
- Experience with Redfish and PLDM a strong plus.
- Familiarity with Out Of Band management of servers and its components in a data center environment.
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
Bachelor’s / Master’s degree (preferred) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
10+ years relevant experience
