AMD’s Server BIOS QA team is looking for an experienced Principal Software Test Engineer who will be responsible for test planning and execution of test plans to deliver high quality firmware for AMD Server CPUs.

 

Success in this task would require one to have a deep understanding of the firmware change list, effective test scoping to ensure the changes get thoroughly tested and proactive resource (people, equipment) scoping to ensure full test scope gets executed in a timely manner. Driving close collaboration with peers in development teams, architecture teams, customer support teams, validation teams and QA team is essential. Additionally, being a senior member of the QA team, contributions towards the Firmware team’s vision and strategy of continuous integration, improved development processes, quality and productivity improvements are expected.

 

Ideal candidates will have:

  • 16+ years (or more) of overall relevant industry experience and a track record of shipping server/storage/networking products for the enterprise, cloud data center and service provider markets.
  • Prior experience working as a technical lead, test architect or managing a team of test engineers delivering enterprise quality firmware / software.
  • Experience with board, processor, or ASIC bring-up
  • Experience with source control systems such as git, automated test infrastructure such as jenkins, defect management systems such as JIRA
  • Experience / understanding of automation test development / deployment using python, Jenkins etc
  • Experience with technologies such as Secure Boot, TPM, AES, DES, RSA, AMD Secure Memory Encryption, AMD Secure Encrypted Virtualization, DDR, CXL, PCIe, SPDM, MCTP, ACPI
  • Good knowledge of Linux and Windows internals, especially dependencies of Operating System on the BIOS and Firmware
  • Deep understanding of full product life cycle, software development methods (both Agile and Waterfall), and development and build environments.
  • Ability to undertake loosely defined goals or complex problems to create order, and drive closure.
  • Ability to organize, delegate, and effectively deliver to large and complex programs.
  • Ability to drive multi-geo projects by working effectively with remote teams.
  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced, highly dynamic environment, with a bias towards action and results.
  • Conflict resolution skills including ability to bridge style difference
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, listening, and written communication skills, both within the team and across the organization.
  • Ability to mentor/coach/teach/facilitate and lead change in a highly technical/dynamic team
