THE ROLE:
We are seeking a Principal Technical Writer with expertise or significant interest in system-on-chip (SoC) Architecture. This senior role will stretch you as you work with architecture teams in new directions, network with our world-class, patent-holding think-tank, and negotiate amongst design teams, marketing, and business unit executives.
THE PERSON:
You have strong communication and presentation skills, along with a record of success creating specifications and documentation for SoC architecture, product roadmaps and product requirements; you are meticulous about SoC Power and Performance. You are highly adept at collaboration with top-thinkers and engineers alike, ready to mentor, guide, and elevate the knowledge and skills of the team around you.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Creation and evolution of full chip architecture specifications from domain expert interviews, design team meetings and other documentation sources.
- Comprehend the SOC as a complete system which includes hardware (Silicon), firmware, BIOS & operating system and ensure that all are aligned to optimize performance and power.
- Work with RTL architects to document technical details.
- Documentation owner, responsible for architecture analysis and technical solutions for marketing & feature change requests.
- Able to work independently managing multiple projects and program deadlines.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Strong foundation in system & SoC architecture, with understanding of SOC design flow.
- Fluent in documentation tools; FrameMaker, Word, Visio, etc.
- Demonstrated experience documenting microarchitecture, SoC’s, state machines, block diagrams, etc.
- Excellent communication, management, and presentation skills.
- Adept at collaboration among top-thinkers and senior architects with strong interpersonal skills to work across teams in different geographies
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in related discipline preferred
