Xilinx, Inc., a subsidiary of AMD, Inc., is hiring Product Application Engineers to provide technical support for Xilinx System-on-Chips. Interface directly with customers, field engineers and factory engineering groups to resolve complex technical issues enabling customers to proceed with their designs and improving Xilinx products along the way. Provide direct technical support to customers on critical design issues; identify customer problems and propose appropriate solutions; and provide customers advice on alternative design techniques and the implementation of alternative solutions. Provide information and data on a variety of Xilinx products, and work on specific tactical projects for key design programs. Train customers on design techniques. Generate application notes, reference designs and answer records.

Qualifications: Degree required
Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.

Alternate combination of education and experience: Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field and 2 years of experience in job offered or closely related engineering role.
Specific skills required: The following skills are required:
Must have experience in the following:
- Embedded system development;
- SOC or system architecture;
- Software debugging (mac OS, Linux, or Unix);
- Object Oriented design, Memory management, or Multi-threading;
- C or C++ programming; and
- Git.
Experience may be gained through graduate-level coursework, research, or internship experience.
