THE ROLE:

This is a test engineering position responsible for debug of manufacturing and characterization test programs for next-generation AMD microprocessors. This work is done using internal System Level Test (SLT) platforms to debug test infrastructure issues including test HW, test SW, diagnostics and device-specific IP. This position also includes test plan execution, silicon characterization/debug and data analysis. You will contribute to a larger team that correlates the test solution to lab/manufacturing/customer platforms to validate product design, fabrication process, packaging technology, and manufacturing robustness to product specifications.

  • Has accountability for accuracy, reliability and completeness of assignment results critical to the project’s success.
  • Able to optimize partnerships with geographically distributed product engineering teams.
     
    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Executes projects with quality and timeliness.
  • Performs design or design-equivalent work on a portion of a project, process or activity of limited scope.
  • Executes product improvement activities to reduce cost, improve yield and resolves quality issues.
     
    PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
  • Strong programming skills with Java, C++, C, Python.
  • Familiar with general Computer Architecture concepts such as pipelining and caching, x86 architecture, and PC computer organization.
  • Courses in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Digital Logic, and Circuit Theory.
  • Participation in Lean, XP, AGILE, Scrum, or Kanban processes.
  • Proficient with revision control (GIT, SVN, CVS, or similar) and Continuous Integration/Deployment.
  • Familiar with unit testing.
  • Skilled in scripting languages such as Perl, Ruby, shell script, or similar
  • Familiar with Linux or Unix Operating Systems.
  • Comprehension of Microsoft standard apps (i.e. Office), Microsoft Windows Operating Systems.
  • Experience in silicon debugging using customized diagnostics and OS’s on a bench or in System Level Test platform.
  • Familiar with building computer systems (desktops, laptops, servers, etc).
  • Accomplished with low level software development experience (Assembly, BIOS).
  • Adept with PC HW debug including networking, storage, and thermal control.
  • Proficient with using logic analyzers, voltmeters, oscilloscopes, and other debug tools.
  • Able to perform statistical and Pareto analysis to resolve population mean and outliers as well as to drive a debug process.
  • Familiar with hardware description languages.

  • B.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering
