PROGRAM MANAGEMENT DIRECTOR

 

THE ROLE:

Program Management in the Operations & Methodology team within the RTG SOC Design & Architecture organization. The RTG (Radeon Technology Group) SOC team is responsible for architecture and engineering execution of Graphics and GPU Compute products. This leadership role involves management and oversight of Instinct architectural deliverables, driving key methodology initiatives and improvements, developing and implementing process-related improvements, and ensuring alignment with the broader AMD Engineering community. This position offers deep exposure to industry leading Graphics, GPU Compute, AI, Machine Learning and related technologies.  

 

THE PERSON:

You are a self-starter who works effectively in a cross-matrixed, fast paced environment. You have several years’ program management experience in IP, SOC or software.  You have a strong understanding of the general silicon engineering process from concept to production. You have independently driven global and multi-disciplined complex engineering programs.  You possess exceptional verbal, written, and communication skills as well as strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work closely with Instinct SOC architecture team to drive technology/product definition, ensure readiness for key architectural checkpoints and gate reviews
  • Ensure strong feature and product alignment with IP partners, business units, and key customers
  • Report out regularly on status, decisions, issues to senior executives
  • Ensure architectural documentation deliverables are timely, complete and accurate
  • Deliver architectural definition, within schedule and budget, in alignment with the customer product requirements 
  • Deliver timely engineering effort estimates and program-level definition in concert with architects and business leaders 
  • Manage various methodology initiatives and drive alignment across AMD engineering
  • Operational initiatives and activities as needed in support of corporate goals

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

 

  • Proven track record of functional leadership in matrixed environment
  • Engineering resource planning, negotiation, process improvement, and trade off decisions
  • Proven ability to drive multiple strategic operational programs, can multi-task effectively and manage competing priorities
  • Demonstrated understanding and experience in engineering & business processes and reporting, budget planning, collaboration with HR and Finance 
  • Knowledge of graphics IP, SOC, and/or SW program management and development
  • Experience interacting with senior executives, experience leading through influence

 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • BS or master’s degree in related field preferred
  • PMP certification desired
