SOC DFX PROGRAM MANAGER 

 

ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT: 

The AMD GPU Technologies and Engineering (G&E) North America SOC (Silicon on Chip) team is the HW design team behind the Data Centre Discrete Graphics Processing Units (dGPUs) ASICs. This team works very closely with the G&E India SOC team as well as with global IP teams to assemble and build cutting-edge products.  This position offers deep exposure to industry leading Graphics, GPU compute, Machine Learning, and related technologies.

 

THE ROLE: 

You will be part of the Technical Program Management team, that is responsible for ensuring that new product design execution is successfully driven in line with the project scope, schedule, and budget.  This is a role that will support the SOC DFX team and will require engagement across multiple engineering units and geographies to meet project objectives.

In this role, you will be an integral part of the SOC DFX and PMO teams working closely with both the North America and India SOC teams as well as global teams to ensure continual forward progress is maintained, status reporting is timely and accurate, and key issues are driven with appropriate urgency. 

 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Delivering on all assigned program commitments from inception through execution
  • Driving incorporation of initiatives and process improvements at the functional and cross-functional level into assigned program(s)
  • Status reporting and issue messaging to key stakeholders
  • Supporting the daily tasks within the DFX organization; these maybe related to program, budget, operations, Engineering IT GRID/LSF 
  • Collaborates with core teams and execution teams to identify areas that require special attention or escalations to identify corrective actions 

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 

  • Minimum of 5-8 years program management or technical leadership experience
  • Experience in managing complex, interrelated projects/programs, and functions; working knowledge across multiple engineering disciplines is highly desirable
  • Strong presentation, communication, and leadership skills; ability to lead technical discussions and up-level outcomes for executive-level status reporting 
  • Proven ability to multi-task effectively and manage competing priorities
  • Ability to work in a large matrixed organization and achieve results via influence
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proactively involve team members in planning, decision-making and execution efforts 
  • Strong knowledge of productivity and project tools including Jira, Confluence, Microsoft Office Suite 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: 

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer/Electrical Engineering (or equivalent) preferred
  • Formal project management education, PMP / Scrum Master an asset
