Program Manager, Diagnostics Software

THE ROLE:

This role will include working with global functional teams that architect, design, develop, and support CPU, APU diagnostics, debug and validation tools for internal AMD silicon and platform teams and NDA customers to establish schedules, mitigate risk, manage progress, and report status.

 

 THE PERSON:

The candidate must demonstrate strong motivation, flexibility, and a proven record of meeting aggressive deadlines, working with demanding customers as well as the ability to work as part of global cross functional team.

 

In this capacity the candidate is expected to work with teams across the company that ensure dependency deliverables are met so that the functional teams work is not blocked or delayed. Depending on the scope/size of the program assignment the role may include managing more than one program at any given time.

 

The role will also require working with our Asia and NA engineering counterparts, extensive interactions within the Diagnostics organization. The applicant must be a team player with a commitment to meeting deadlines and an aptitude to thrive in a fast-paced multi-tasking environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Communicate with design team, internal users, and customers to understand and define the diagnostic, debug, and validation tool software requirements.
  • Work with functional technical leads to investigate project roadmap and product technical documentation to understand software impact.
  • As scrum master to lead the software development tasks. Track the progress, report to scrum of scrum master, identify risks or dependencies, bring back actions to engineering team.
  • Create project dashboard and deliver report and presentation to key stakeholders
  • Lead Diagnostic software programs for CPU and APU products. Interface with silicon design team, software/firmware team, platform team, BIOS team, and key internal stakeholders for deliverables.
  • Assist BU lead to operate project and team management. Track program milestones, chair review meetings, regularly report out, and recruiting, training, device purchase, etc.
  • Meet deadlines and an aptitude to thrive in a fast-paced multi-tasking environment.

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Education on engineering degree bachelor or above, software engineering is preferred
  • Solid knowledge of the software development lifecycle required.
  • Mastery of Agile development methodologies and run scrum meeting as master
  • Must be fluent in both written and spoken English and Chinese
  • Strong skills of using Microsoft Office tools, including but not limited to Excel, Power Point, Project, PowerBI
  • Eager to learn new technology and new procedure.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skill. Strong communication, dedication, responsibility, and coordination skills
  • Experience of working with off-shore teams and customers preferred.
  • Familiar with silicon design, development and production procedure is a plus
  • Holding PMP certification is a plus

 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • BS or MS required. BS or MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering preferred.
