Ubisoft Scalar is a new foundational technology leveraging the possibilities of cloud computing to enable unprecedented freedom and scale for the games of tomorrow. Ubisoft Scalar take the components and systems of traditional game engines and transforms them into microservices in the cloud – moving from the closed, single-processor systems of today to a distributed model across a potentially unlimited number of machines. As a QA Specialist, you’ll join a team where testing is key as they work to transform traditional game engines to the cloud.
What you’ll do
- Ensure the quality of the deliverables of the team
- Identify and report software defects and usability concerns
- Work with the Technical Director to develop test strategy
- Create, analyze and share test reports
- Build and maintain test documentation
- Collaborate with the team to establish best practices
- Support and contribute to teams’ existing testing and test automation
- Work with both open source and inner source technologies for automation and reporting
- Coordinate with Software Testers to execute test plans
- Assist with first-line support for the product
- Actively participate in the evolution of QA practices
- Work on projects of your own initiative through our Innovation Jams
Qualifications
You’re rigorous about quality and tackle problems methodically. Your top-notch collaboration skills help you to take in lots of information from partners, and translate it into clear plans and action items. Besides the above, we are looking for someone aligned with our studio’s core values and the following skills and experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in quality assurance or related experience (troubleshooting, testing)
- Good knowledge of QA methodologies, tools, and processes
- Knowledge of bug tracking software (e.g. Jira) and test management tools (e.g. TestRail and Xray)
- A strong understanding of the development process
The following skills would be a bonus:
- Experience with Python scripting language
- Experience with debugging web applications
- Experience with testing web APIs
- Familiarity with digital asset creation
- Understanding of agile practices
