The Realization Designer works under the Narrative director to provide direction in defining the content, to define overall direction and content of the cinematics of the game; working with the team and production to drive realization topics from pre-production until implementation, polish and debug. 

You work closely with the content team (Creative Direction, Game Direction, Art Direction, World Direction, Audio Direction, and Brand Direction) to ensure that the team, internal partners and the public gets a consistent, aligned message and direction. 

Some of the main responsibilities that you can expect include: 

  • Direct the script/scene-breakdown, casting, voice recordings, movement creation process and final edits of the scenes and kinematics
  • Work in collaboration with the narrative director and screenwriters, creative and artistic directors and the director of animation to manage all of the game’s narrative productions (i.e., producing the scripted moments and in-game elements to support gameplay intentions) and ensure fluid communication between the parties
  • Control the quality of the mise-en-scène, composition, framing, camera, music, and special effects to remain as much in keeping with the director’s vision as possible
  • Ensure that game values are respected during production when developing the main characters and key narrative elements with the screenwriter, from the design stage to the final product, and at other times in the process
  • At least a first experience in game and/or multimedia projects (storyboarding cinematic integration)
  • Be able to integrate cutscenes into the engine
  • Knowledge of Unreal 5 cinematics pipeline is a plus
  • Very strong artistic talents and multimedia art skills
  • Considerable understanding of video games and broad video game culture
  • Strong technical skills and broad film culture
  • Understanding of film practices and ability to transpose them to the interactive video game medium
  • Sound artistic judgment
