THE ROLE:

In this role you will help create an environment where top talent can do their best work. As the Retirement Benefits Staff Analyst, you will be responsible for managing and administering AMD’s U.S. retirement savings plans. Reporting into the Global Benefits Director, you will be a partner in driving programs that will attract, engage and retain talent at AMD, a fast paced, high growth company.

 

THE PERSON:

You are a professional with experience managing US retirement benefit programs in a global organization.  In addition to having knowledge and background in retirement benefits design and administration, you are a self-starter who values working in a collaborative environment to get the best solution for AMD. You have a keen focus on customer service for our employees, are able to communicate effectively and have strong problem-solving skills.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Partner with the Global Benefits Director on the development, implementation and management of the US retirement savings plans.
  • Oversee defined contribution (401(k)), deferred compensation and Health Savings Account administration and compliance.
    • Lead and execute retirement compliance requirements, including annual ERISA plan audits, annual government disclosures/filings, Summary Plan Description, and non-discrimination testing. This includes responsibility for understanding and ensuring compliance with all applicable federal and state laws.
    • Oversee funding of all plans; ensure adherence to internal governance process.
    • Oversee 401(k) match and true-up calculation and execution.
    • Identify and lead retirement program enhancements.
    • Manage complex and escalated retirement issues.
    • Support in the development and delivery of materials for the quarterly Benefits Plan Administrative Committee meetings.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners including HR, Finance, Payroll, HRIS and service providers.
  • Create and maintain online information on retirement savings plans.
  • Support M&A activity, as needed.

 

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Must have years of experience managing US retirement plans.
  • Strong knowledge of retirement program regulations, including ERISA, DOL and IRS guidelines
  • Strong analytical skills, ability to interpret and communicate data
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong vendor management skills
  • Strong organizational skills; ability to plan and set priorities

 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
