RTL DESIGN ENGINEER 

 

 

THE ROLE: 

The focus of this role is to plan, build, and execute the design of new and existing features for AMD’s power management IP. 

  

THE PERSON:  

You have a passion for modern digital design and verification. You are a team player who has excellent communication skills and experience collaborating with other engineers located in different sites/time zones. You have strong analytical and problem-solving skills and are willing to learn and ready to take on problems. 

  

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:  

  • RTL design with SystemVerilog
  • Writing micro-architecture design specifications
  • Familiarity with backend tools (synthesis, lint, CDC, etc.)
    • Integrating flows into a project environment
    • Running quality checks prior to each release to the physical design team
    • Interfacing to the physical design team (debug of issues, creation/review of timing constraints)
  • Verification:
    • Work with verification team to define and review verification plans
    • Debug of simulations at block and system-level
  • Ability to work across various teams within the organization (Analog, FW, System Engineering, Architecture)

  

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:  

  • Proven experience in RTL design, debug and support for mixed signal IP
  • Low power design methodology with UPF
  • PLL, DDR, GDDR or voltage regulator experience is a plus
  • Strong programming/scripting skills (C/C++, Python, Perl, Ruby)
  • 5+ years of digital design experience

  

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:  

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in computer engineering/Electrical Engineering
