Job Title:
Senior Communications Strategist - TreyarchRequisition ID:
R018481Job Description:
Developing games since 1996, Treyarch is home to some of the industry\'s most creative video game development talent, as well as a culture that possesses a deep love of games and a desire to serve its community of fans. We believe that part of fan service means that there is always room to improve, which is why we’re looking for a new Senior Communications Strategist that can help us take our passion for our community of fans to the next level.
This role will be instrumental in forging an even deeper relationship with our global community of players, as well as the day-to-day publication of social content across a multitude of communications platforms.
We\'re looking for someone who understands the game development process and has a proven track record in the realms of traditional public relations, social media, social monitoring/analytics, and community management. Additionally, this person will be a people manager, who possesses the ability to manage multiple projects against demanding deadlines.
To succeed you should have…
- A Passion for Communications: You are a student of the game, always studying, always learning, always looking at how you can take what others have done and one-up it, telling stories across different types of media platforms and experiences for maximum impact.
- A Strategic, Subject-Matter Expert: You possess a deep understanding of social media management tools and platforms, and how to leverage them to cultivate a content, well-informed community of fans. You understand how to pick the right kinds of conversations that drive the most impact – you see the bigger picture and know how to use the tools at your disposal to get there.
- A Multi-tasker: Working in the studio environment is a very entrepreneurial one and demands the need to be proactive and self-motivated in a team-focused environment. You can work individually or in a team environment, while balancing simultaneous projects.
- A Collaborator: You have an understanding of how communications teams work, and how the dev environment functions, enabling you to make sense of who you’d need to work with to achieve a desired outcome. Additionally, you possess the common sense to know how to err on the side of being correct, honest, and transparent.
- A Gamer at Heart: A knowledge of Call of Duty and Treyarch games is expected, but you are more than any single game – you love playing all kinds of games. Of course, deep franchise knowledge is a huge plus.
What you’ll do…
- Ideate, create, and help execute campaigns across our spectrum of digital and social platforms to inform, engage, and grow our community of players. In the realm of social media and community management, you will have a great deal of latitude to bring new ideas to the table.
- Write. A Lot. You will engage with our community fans on behalf of the studio and its games in relevant online forums, as well as blog posts.
- Serve in a highly collaborative role, helping to bridge development, community and comms/marketing audiences across a variety of channels and spaces.
- Work with our LiveOps team, Player Support, Brand, Social, and Analytics teams on community initiatives.
- Assist with the creation of key messaging and FAQs.
- Serve as an active participant in our monitoring/analytics activities, helping to contribute to our greater understanding of community needs. Additionally, your work will help contribute to routine monitoring and reporting activities.
- Work directly with members of the Studio Communications team and the development team to prioritize and collect the information needed to keep the community informed.
- Additionally, you\'ll work with brand, PR, Player Support, and a range of other cross-functional teams to help ensure the highest quality content.
- Travel. You can’t be of-the-people if you don’t get out to press-the-flesh once in a while. Come with an updated passport in hand. Additionally, there will be the need to work flexible hours.
We’d love it if you also have…
- A Bachelor’s degree in communications, media studies, and/or journalism, and at least 5+ years of social, community management, web, forum, and/or blogging experience.
We love hearing from anyone who is enthusiastic about changing the games industry. Not sure you meet all qualifications? Let us decide! Research shows that women and members of other under-represented groups tend to not apply to jobs when they think they may not meet every qualification, when, in fact, they often do! At Activision Blizzard, we are committed to creating a diverse and inclusive environment and strongly encourage you to apply.
Covid-19 Hiring Update: We’ve transitioned to a work-from-home model and we’re continuing to interview and hire during this time. This role is expected to begin as a remote position. We understand each person’s circumstances may be unique and will work with you to explore possible interim options.
