About this Role
Fandom is growing! We are hiring a Senior DevOps Engineer. This is a remote position based in the United States. You will report to our TechOps Manager, Frank Farmer.
You get to investigate, evaluate, and implement new technologies that improve our platform's performance, resilience and maintainability. You get to build the hybrid multi-cloud infrastructure that scales to 350 million users, 300,000 communities, 4 billion monthly page events and 300,000 databases in one of the highest volume platforms on the internet.

You Will
- Manage infrastructure and systems that support our Fandom wiki websites and newly acquired companies including - Metacritic, Giantbomb, Gamespot, TV Guide, GameFAQs, and Comic Vine
- Build some of the biggest fan platforms on the Internet with 350 million users and over 300,000 communities
- Deliver high quality, scalable, and maintainable infrastructure architecture and services both on prem and in the cloud
- Develop technical and architectural designs to perform at absurdly large scale
- Provide technical leadership for large, important projects that involve coordination of multiple teams and spans multiple technologies and systems
- Collaborate with your teammates, mentor and be mentored
- Participate in biweekly sprints and projects
You Have
- 3+ years Cloud infrastructure
- 3+ years writing automation tooling in Python, Ruby, Go, Java
- Configuration automation in the cloud - AWS and GCP (terraform)
- Configuration automation - manage ops systems in data centers on prem (Chef, Puppet, Ansible)
- Coding skills in at least one of our most used languages (Python, Ruby, GoLang, Java)
- Design and implement architectural solutions that scale and can succeed long term
- Deliver well-structured, tested, maintainable, scalable and useful infrastructure

- Previous experience and passion for contributing to open-source projects
- Passion for pop culture (Movies, Games, TV Shows, Anime, etc.)
- Deploy and manage high availability web app infrastructure
- Docker, Kubernetes, multi-cloud infrastructure and CDNs (Fastly)
