THE ROLE:

AMD is looking for an technical leader passionate about leading the architecture of leading deep learning IP that is driving AI experiences pervasively across AMD’s product portfolio from client to edge to cloud. The ideal candidate will have proven experience architecting and creating industry-leading processors and AI accelerators. We are looking for a unique leader with deep technical expertise and understanding of the deep learning technologies, industry-leading AI models in one or more domains, such as multi-modal AI models, large language models, vision models, or recommendation systems. In this role, the candidate will drive the roadmap, innovations for driving high-efficiency AI architectures, and codesign effort for the next generation of products. We are also looking for candidates that are able to communicate effectively and work optimally with different teams across AMD.  

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Lead the development of the company's deep learning architecture, ensuring that they are world-class in terms of performance, power efficiency, and scalability.
2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and execute on product roadmaps, ensuring alignment with business objectives and customer needs.
3. Drive technical innovation and excellence within the team, staying up-to-date with the latest advancements in deep learning architectures and silicon.

1. Build and maintain relationships with key partners and customers to drive technical requirements and architecture
2.  Develop technical relationships with peers and partners 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

1. Strong background in computer architecture and software engineering practices
2. Proven track record of delivering AI accelerator solutions
3. Grasp of trends in AI models for data center and consumer applications and their mapping to AI accelerators and ability to build performance estimators
4. Strong understanding of the implementation of key ML operations like GEMM, CONV
5. Effective communication and problem-solving skills

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

BS + 16 (or more) years of experience*, or MS +13 (or more) years of experience, or PhD + 10 (or more) years of experience
