The opportunity
We are seeking a Senior Graphics Engineer to join our DirectX team. In this role, you will work at the core of Unity's engine, developing and maintaining a high-performance, robust API layer that enables efficient communication between the engine's systems and the underlying graphics hardware. This position is essential for ensuring that Unity’s graphics infrastructure remains fast, stable, and scalable.

As part of the team, you’ll contribute to a platform used by millions of developers worldwide. The code you write will power applications running on billions of devices, making a direct impact on the performance and experience of users across a vast array of hardware.

What you'll be doing

• Developing, optimizing, and maintaining the core graphics API layer that interfaces with low-level DirectX systems.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate the API layer seamlessly with higher-level engine systems.
• Troubleshooting and debugging complex issues to ensure Unity’s graphics engine stability and efficiency.
• Delivering high-quality, production-ready code that will run on billions of devices and support millions of developers globally.

What we're looking for

• Excellent C++ skills with a strong focus on modern C++ standards and best practices
• Deep expertise in the DirectX 12 API, with a firm grasp of its internal workings and performance optimizations
• Proven ability to work effectively with large cross-platform codebases focused on graphics API development
