The Discord Product Creative Team is seeking a versatile creative with strong illustration and conceptual skills. The ideal candidate is an artistic chameleon, known for boundless creativity and the ability to bring a vibrant array of styles to life. You'll be a key player in our expanding Collectibles Content Creation team, excelling at visualizing concepts quickly and producing a wide range of creative ideas. The ideal candidate can independently create a vision, collaborate with other creatives, and provide feedback and direction to vendors. Experience working on animation projects and understanding how to design for animation are essential. Animation capabilities are a significant plus for this role.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Collaborate with the Collectibles design team to produce diverse collectible assets, including avatar decorations, profile effects, and new collectible types.
• Conceptualize, storyboard, and design motion sequences and illustrations that effectively communicate design concepts.
• Illustrate a wide range of subject matter in different styles, such as characters, visual effects, and objects.
• Partner closely with game publishers and vendors to produce high-quality assets.
• Work within technical product constraints to create desirable collectibles content. Ensure all designs and animations meet project requirements, brand guidelines, and technical specifications.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and adaptability to changing priorities.
• Provide valuable feedback on the work of others and iterate on designs based on constructive feedback.

You Will Thrive In This Role If You:

• Have a portfolio showcasing a wide range of illustrations and animations.
• Have 6+ years of design/production experience with an ad agency or in-house design team working on animated projects, ideally in the tech or gaming industry.
• Are proficient in both Illustration and 2D animation techniques, with a strong understanding of motion principles, composition, and timing.
• Are proficient in industry-standard software and tools, such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Adobe After Effects to create high-quality animations and illustrations. Bonus: Figma, Lottie, Cinema 4D, and Maya.
• Have excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively work with artists, designers, and other team members. You are comfortable presenting creative concepts and capable of articulating the rationale behind design decisions.
• Can take constructive feedback and iterate on designs to achieve the desired outcome.
• Are humble, team-oriented, and possess a positive attitude and an open mind.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $168,000 to $185,000 + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role and level. Within the range, individual pay is determined by additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
