Senior Localization Manager

 

 

The role:

The Digital Marketing team is responsible for scaling and accelerating marketing. From digital operations to partner enablement, to content management and localization; we drive digital strategy. As Manager of Content Localization for the worldwide marketing organization, you will lead a team of Localization Producers using best-practices, tools, standards, and processes required for internationalization and localization of technical content and partner-facing content. You will build business cases using data, drive change management and obtain buy-in from senior leaders and global stakeholders. You will validate localization requests and influence what content is localized through your in-depth analysis of data, market insights, and proactive feedback-gathering from regional stakeholders.

 

The person:

Your senior level of experience builds trust with key stakeholders, and you approach each conversation grounded in business impact and what it takes to make it happen. We are looking for a highly experienced multilingual manager with the ability to create something that does not exist but should, a leader who is not afraid to ask tough questions or push for the best solutions. You innovate down to the details and drive what matters, ensuring that others similarly focus on what is critical. You are the champion of change and can rally others behind your vision, with your strong social and oral/written communication skills and excellent presentation skills. We are looking for creative problem solving and accountability, and a continuous improvement attitude. You are results-oriented and highly organized, self-motived to meet challenging timelines through resourcefulness and creativity. The ideal candidate is an outstanding communicator with a keen eye for detail, able to move and continue to make progress even when items are not fully defined.

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Define the localization strategy for your team to deliver the best possible user experience around the world.
  • Drive effective content localization by obtaining and evaluating activation plans, analyzing utilization data, and influencing content decisions.
  • Manage a team of localization producers and ensure quality operations of a network of global localization resources.
  • Engage with partners on initiatives to improve local content and establish a solid review cycle, assessing the feedback from internal clients.
  • Work closely with executive leadership on reporting, presenting, and demonstrating content ROI and shaping the global content journeys.
  • Engage with content, regional and marketing teams, and at times directly with creative agencies and in-house creative teams, to redefine the way content travels from local creators to global audiences through localization.
  • Build new localization solutions as needed, such as SEM or paid search term adaptation capabilities, and centralize localization processes to benefit from translation memory savings and brand consistency.

 

Background & experience:

  • Extensive experience in localization working at a global enterprise level.
  • Native-level fluency in a foreign language. Fluency in English.
  • Experience working in a foreign country is preferred.
  • Deep and extensive knowledge in machine translation and localization content management tools.
  • Key competencies for this role include change management, influencing, communication, planning/analysis, and flawless execution of plans.

 

Academic credentials:

  • Bachelor’s degree in localization, translation, marketing, or equivalent experience. Master’s degree preferred.
