THE ROLE:
This role sits in the Core Markets Group (CMG) and has responsibility across the entire AECG organization. This is a critical role that works cross-functionally to build relationships and gather input from key stakeholders to apply judgement and create the final unit demand forecast for capacity planning and for both short and long-term revenue planning.
THE PERSON:
This high-level individual contributor role will own and manage the process to forecast demand and revenue as part of AMD’s Adaptive & Embedded Compute Group (AECG) in the Business Planning & Operations team, with a focus on NPI products.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Demand forecasting for all new products including boards, silicon devices, and others. Unit forecasts are provided monthly and input into Global Operations & Quality’s (GOQ) central forecasting system for supply planning.
- Establish a robust, scalable, collaborative, and accurate forecasting process that spans several organizations (including Sales, Marketing, GOQ), and leverages multiple data sources to provide a well-judged forecast that maximizes product rollout and customer availability, while minimizing E&O
- Determine appropriate balance between wafer starts, capacity planning, inventory management and customer needs.
- ASP and revenue forecasting for all new products with alignment to business plans.
- Work collaboratively to ensure stakeholder buy-in and support.
- Communicate status effectively across multiple organizations, including a monthly NPI reporting package for Operations reviews, employing advanced visualization skills to effectively communicate key messages including how NPI progress is supporting the corporate strategy and customer needs.
- Drive analytics in support of generating more accurate forecasts, including pipeline analytics, plan vs. actuals, historic trends & predictive models, etc.
- Core team participation of future Demand Planning projects spanning all product lines and businesses within AECG.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- 10-12+ years, desired of related semiconductor NPI Planning/Operations/manufacturing related experience
- Must work independently and can own the entire process, with demonstrated strong ability to apply judgement and ownership of decisions.
- Excellent skills in establishing relationships and working effectively across multiple functions in a high-paced, dynamic environment across all levels of the organization.
- Advanced Excel skills are required.
- Advanced data analytics and modeling skills are required.
- Strong system skills in an environment with large amounts of data to review, comprehend, and summarize.
- Tableau or other visualization and analytics experience highly desired.
- Strong technical and business knowledge of the semiconductor industry and its products along with a solid understanding of supply chain planning
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
- BS Degree in Electrical Engineering or Business, MS/MBA preferred.
