The Role:

The Client and Graphics Engineering Validation Team is looking for a dynamic and energetic technical manager/lead to join our growing post-silicon validation team. The Graphics Memory sub-system validation lead is responsible to drive and deliver pre- and post-silicon validation and characterization of Graphics Memory on AMD’s discrete GPU products. The validation team fosters and encourages continuous technical innovation to showcase successes as well as facilitate continuous career development.


The Person:

An experienced leader with ability to drive both technical direction and management of the Graphics memory validation team. This person will effectively collaborate with cross-function teams to plan, validate, and debug issues to resolution. You are expected to lead by example, mentor junior engineers, and be comfortable working in a lab environment.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a talented post silicon team focused on graphics memory delivering quality memory solutions for new discrete graphics products
  • Lead graphics memory enablement and validation strategies from pre-silicon through customer adoption working across architecture, silicon design, firmware/software, validation, and debug teams
  • Proactively leading graphics memory project planning, developing and maintaining schedules, managing dependencies, and ensuring quality of deliverables at committed milestones
  • Drive debug and resolution of graphics memory issues across silicon, firmware/software, and debug teams
  • Develops regular status representing the graphics memory team in program meetings providing status to program and senior management
  • Develop and lead graphics memory process improvement initiatives including technical test plan development, quality, and efficiency improvements
  • Working with major DRAM memory vendors and validation of DRAM devices

 

Preferred Experience:

  • Engineering management and technical leadership experience in graphics memory domain.
  • Considered a technical leader in graphics memory and has a proven track record for sustained innovation.
  • Extensive knowledge of GDDR6 memory, technical debug, and validation strategy.
  • Collaborate and drive memory related silicon issues across multi-functional architecture, design, software and firmware teams
  • Able to work as a team and work efficiently in a dynamic environment and on multiple projects
  • Good written and oral communication skills, with the ability to communicate with a variety of engineering disciplines and management.  

Education:

  • Bachelors or Masters in Electrical or Computer Engineering
