We are seeking a highly driven, innovative, and passionate Senior Manager, Accounting Operations to join the Accounting Operations team inside Finance Operations. Accounting Operations provides large-scale, global accounting support for financial close, reporting, statutory compliance, and audit for over 300 ABK/Microsoft legal entities and lines of business. We are a global team with staff and delivery centers around the world. Accounting Operations is continuously expanding its scope, evolving operating models with intelligent automation, innovative processes, and offering cost efficient solutions for ABK. We strive to provide end-to-end experiences for our customers with built-in compliance and intelligent insights.
As the Senior Manager, you will oversee the accounting close processes, compliance, and governance through a business process outsourcing (BPO) model. This role ensures business continuity, accurate financial reporting, and adherence to Company policies, while providing thought leadership and help support alignment of team priorities with organizational strategy. Engaging with stakeholders across the organization, you will drive and/or support efforts on continuous improvement, enhance operational efficiency, and support business goals with strategic insights.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to the following):
Governance and Compliance
Conduct governance of vendor teams performing Accounting Operations activities, including preparation and review of financial close journal entries, balance sheet account reconciliations, analytical reviews, and other financial reporting in compliance with ABK accounting policies and guidelines.
Monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Service Level Agreement (SLA) metrics for accuracy and compliance.
Lead business operation team, partnering with ABK P2P teams to support business stakeholders effectively.
Research, review, and document accounting standards, guidelines, and policies. Field complex questions from business partners in alignment with accounting policies.
Perform in-depth P&L and BS analysis and respond to inquiries from business and finance partners regarding actual financial performance.
Issue Resolution and Support
Investigate and resolve business partner inquiries, accounting deviations, and other anomalies.
Serve as an escalation point of contact to resolve complex issues when governing vendors in a shared services environment. Facilitate issue resolution with leadership, business partners, team members, and vendor leadership.
Provide advanced support and troubleshooting to users. Investigate and resolve business partner inquiries, accounting deviations, and other data anomalies.
Collaborate with the Technical Accounting team to ensure consistent accounting practices across different regions.
Compliance and Reporting
Partner with the IA and SOX teams to ensure robust controls are in place for all accounting processes.
Take a leading role in SOX compliance for global accounting operations, overseeing and reviewing team adherence to controls.
Process Improvement and Optimization
Lead the implementation and management of global standardized processes for key business activities, driving continuous process improvements.
Identify opportunities for optimization and automation of accounting processes and lead global initiatives to improve efficiency and accuracy.
Champion data-driven process improvement projects, recommending and implementing best practices to enhance operational performance.
Act as a system administrator for critical accounting systems, offering guidance and support to both internal teams and external vendors.
Act as a trusted advisor, sharing expertise across functions and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
Player Profile
Bachelor’s degree in business, Accounting /Finance, or related field AND minimum 7 years accounting or finance experience.
Extensive experience in accounting close and financial reporting.
Proficiency in Oracle, Answers OBIEE, and/or SmartView is a plus.
Experience working with international teams and a strong background in technical accounting is highly desirable.
Consistent track record managing external shared services providers, ensuring compliance with SLAs and quality service delivery.

In the U.S., the standard base pay range for this role is $105,120.00 - $194,400.00 Annual. These values reflect the expected base pay range of new hires across all U.S. locations. Ultimately, your specific range and offer will be based on several factors, including relevant experience, performance, and work location. Your Talent Professional can share this role’s range details for your local geography during the hiring process. In addition to a competitive base pay, employees in this role may be eligible for incentive compensation. Incentive compensation is not guaranteed.
