Join the San Diego Studio Production team!

Our ideal new team member will focus on the direction, coordination, implementation, approval, analysis, and completion of content schedules, specifically resource and project tracking. This role will remain aligned with strategy, commitments, and goals of the Studio. Examples of projects may include creation, modification and enforcement of production schedules. Ensuring that projects stay within budget and at the highest level of excellence through planning, problem solving and decision making. You will also work with team members to maintain project momentum, ensure accuracy of resource planning and anticipate & tackle problems independently and collaboratively. This role will collaborate with production Scrum Masters and Associate project manager and project leads by performing the following duties:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Assist Director of Program Operations in the creation of high-level landmark deliverables across the studio, collaborating with project leadership to coordinate goals across diverse teams to project completion.
  • Support Director of Program Operations by coordinating, prioritizing, and tracking resources to ensure tasks are complete and on schedule. Ensuring time and availability against complex dependencies and conflicting needs.
  • Providing regular updates and facilitating update meetings.
  • Supervises weekly goals ensuring deadlines are tracked and adjusted on the master studio schedule in relation to project objectives and scope. Coordinate individuals’ time and availability against complex dependencies and conflicting needs.
  • Anticipates scheduling overruns and initiates actions to resolve them.
  • Communicate project team members dependencies of their scheduled tasks and facilitate discussion to unblock.
  • Drives efficiency in overall game development. Ensures organizational cohesiveness toward project objectives in conjunction with production leadership.
  • Chips in to the implementation of new or refined resource strategy methods.
  • Anticipates and solves problems independently and collaboratively. Develops strong relationships across all departments. Facilitating cross-discipline and interdepartmental communication to complete tasks and resolve issues.
  • Proactively communicates project/resource developments with leadership through regular, updates.
  • Maintains a constant awareness of studio deliverables, participating and communicating the review and re-prioritization of resources and features to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Other duties & projects may be assigned.

Requirements:

  • Proactive self-starter, with initiative and autonomy, but also a great teammate. Strong time leadership skills in a technically sophisticated and fast paced work environment.
  • Strong interpersonal, facilitation, strong oral and written communication, and project management skills a must. Overall, must be confident in representing product, team, department, studio and Sony.
  • Ability to work well under high pressure situations and remain a positive demeanor and demeanor.
  • Process knowledge, high attention to detail, timely follow-up and strong organizational skills. The Project Manager would be considered to have a more experience and responsibility.
  • Ability to grasp technical knowledge to meet project needs; ability to identify and coordinate in the production group to assist where vital in meeting project needs Implementing projects in partnership with co-workers, developers.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize across multiple discipline though perhaps not simultaneous depending on demands of the project.
  • Excellent internal and client-facing verbal, written, and presentation skills.
  • Committed to hands-on, self-sufficient, start-to-finish execution.

Education & Experience:

  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience working with large production teams in a product development environment as a Project Manager in a similar field.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or equivalent preferred.
  • Project Management certification required.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (especially Outlook and Excel).
  • Proven track record of handling projects to successful completion.
  • Gaming and interactive entertainment experience preferred.
