Your Mission

Activision, the publisher of the hit Call of Duty franchise, is looking for a passionate Senior Security Engineer to join our Activision Blizzard King (ABK) Security Architecture and Engineering function as an Operations Engineer to help enhance our Operational and Support capabilities.  If you are an avid gamer with an information security and technical support background, come be a part of our team. The mission of the Security Engineering team is to solution, build, and operate information security systems, infrastructure, and tools. The Senior Security Engineer will be providing tools administration, ticketing and information security support, mentoring other security engineers in the operations function, as well as assist the manager in growing and maturing an operations and support function within the Security Engineering team that involves maturing our tools administration capabilities, our ticket management processes, standardize and formalize standard operating procedures, and participate in our on-call responsibilities.

This role reports into the Senior Manager, Security Engineering and maintains strong relationships with all line-of-business technology groups. You will work closely with not only other Information Security teams but also partner with IT teams and will be part of a talented team of security engineers and architects who demonstrate superb technical competency, delivering mission critical infrastructure and ensuring the highest levels of availability, performance and security across our enterprise. Qualified candidates will have a background in one or more of the following: IT or Security Technical Support, Security Engineering, and/or Security Tools Administration.

Priorities can often change in a fast-paced environment like ours, so this role includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:   

  • As a senior member of the team, providing technical and operational leadership for aspects of Operations, Technical Support, and Security Tools Administration within a Security Engineering scope
  • Responsible for overseeing the day-to-day administration, operational, and technical support activities of the Security Engineering team
  • Assist the manager in building and growing a group of Security Engineers that will be responsible for the administration, operations, and technical support functions within a Security Engineering team
  • Administer and monitor Security Tools and provide technical support for the Security Engineering tickets
  • Create integrations with various tools to monitor and automatically respond to issues
  • Build and mature operational and support processes to follow ITIL best practices
  • Not only participate but also help shape how on-call responsibilities are managed
  • Design, implement, and maintain all operational and support processes through comprehensive Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
  • Provide all Service/Operating Level and Operations metrics and Key Performance Indicators (KPI) for service delivery
  • Identify gaps in our current operational and support processes and workflows and recommend changes or enhancements as needed to improve efficiency through using the ESSA methodology (Eliminate, Simplify, Standardize, Automate)
  • Ability to think outside the box to bring creative solutions to sometime complex problems around process improvements
  • Train and mentor team members for operations, support, and/or administration roles
  • Work and mentor team members through Security Engineering tickets, and focus on process improvement and optimizations

Player Profile

Minimum Requirements:

  • 7+ years of IT/Security experience
  • 3+ years experience in IT/Security Technical Support
  • 1-3+ years in Security Tools Administration
  • Strong knowledge in multiple security domains
  • Hands on experience with network security
  • Ability to automate common/frequent tasks via a scripting language, nocode/lowcode technologies, and/or SOAR technologies
  • Working knowledge of ITIL best practices
  • Share on-call rotation responsibilities with the team
  • Willingness to be a security administrator for a number of security tools
  • Excellent ability to gather requirements, speak to business stakeholders, and deliver results
  • Proven ability to handle difficult situations or difficult coworkers
  • Experience in developing and implementing operational initiatives and process improvements
  • Experience managing operational and support escalations
  • Ability to problem solve independently and collaborate as a team to solve complex security problems in support of the team’s mission
  • Detail oriented and excellent documentation skills
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills
  • Able to multitask and prioritize tasks

In the U.S., the standard base pay range for this role is $101,000.00 - $186,754.00 Annual. This base pay range is for the U.S. and is not applicable to locations outside of the U.S. Actual amounts will vary depending on experience, performance and location. In addition to a competitive base pay, employees in this role may be eligible for incentive compensation. Incentive compensation is not guaranteed.
