THE ROLE:
We are looking for a Product Quality & Reliability Engineer to oversee the quality and reliability of AMD’s semi-custom products. This role serves as the primary contact for local customers, managing all quality-related matters, including data analysis, continuous improvement initiatives, and customer quality requests.
THE PERSON:
You will manage customer provided product quality data, analyze the failure pareto, summarize FA results, identify issue root cause, improvement opportunities, and drive quality improvement activities. The person will maintain regular communication with the customer, as well as prepare and participate in customer quality meetings. The role allows the opportunity to collaborate with multiple cross-functional teams at AMD.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Quality Data Analysis & Issue Resolution
Track and analyze product quality and reliability data.
Investigate RMA data and FA results, identify root causes, and work with internal and external teams to drive improvements.
Leverage AI and Machine Learning techniques with the data analytics team to enhance outlier detection.
Continuous Improvement & Collaboration
Work closely with RMA FA, device analysis, product, and test engineering teams to implement state-of-the-art debug, test, and failure analysis techniques.
Reproduce customer observations, identify improvement opportunities, and track effectiveness in production.
Customer Support & Quality Assurance
Address customer quality inquiries, utilizing the 8D problem-solving process to ensure resolution.
Maintain regular communication with customers, understanding their expectations and providing proactive support.
Collaborate with Supplier Quality Engineering (SQE) teams to address manufacturing quality issues.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
Experience in the semiconductor, electronics, or manufacturing industry in roles such as quality engineering, product engineering, process engineering, packaging, validation, FA-debug, or customer support.
Knowledge of hardware design, test diagnostics, validation, debugging, CPUs, GPUs, ARM technology, or data centers is a plus.
Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders.
Fluent in Japanese and business-level English proficiency.
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in related discipline preferred.
