SERDES FIRMWARE ENGINEER

THE ROLE:

AMD SerDes Technology team is searching for a passionate and innovative engineer to join a highly visible team focusing on SerDes interfaces across AMD products. 

THE PERSON:

The ideal candidate is self-motivated to work independently as well as collaboratively with engineers across a variety of AMD design, verification, and validation teams. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Technical lead in planning, developing and implementing firmware in C/C++ for transceiver applications
• Experience with firmware development in pre-silicon verification and emulation environment
• Experience in developing low-level drivers, hardware bring-up and debug
• Experience in software development and testing in FPGA environment
• Knowledge of different transceiver building blocks
• Experience in Python or Perl scripting languages

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

• Knowledge of physical layer specifications in PCIe and IEEE 802.3
• Hands-on experience with high-speed oscilloscopes, BERTs, VNA and spectrum analyzer for silicon bring-up and validation
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with pronounced attention to details

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

• BS or MS in Electrical or Computer Engineering preferred
