THE ROLE:

We are looking for an individual with leadership and strong thermal mechanical fundamentals. A successful candidate will possess strong technical knowledge.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Leadership for the local Server Platform Thermal Mechanical team.
  • Thermal guidance to SOC architects for CPU infrastructure
  • Detailed silicon model for power architects to budget power and predict transient temperatures
  • System floor planning and scoping studies
  • System thermal models
  • System power budgeting
  • Cross functional communications to align standards and direction
  • Partner engagements (Thermal vendors, OEM/ODM)
  • Customer training (Internal and external)
  • Customer support (Internal and external)

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Thermal Solution Mechanical qualification testing (structure, durability, usability, and clearance checks)
  • Thermal Solution performance testing (Theta CA, Pdrop, etc)
  • Chassis design
  • Prototype procurement and manufacture
  • Power cycling testing
  • Manufacturing documentation (BOMs, drawings, assy docs)
  • System shipping container design, testing, and labeling
  • Debug tools (debug frames, custom probe holders, debug socket backplates)
  • Thermal design tools/collateral (Flotherm model, Thermal Test Slugs, Thermal Design Guide, System Thermal Test User's Guide)
  • Thermal validation tools (Thermal Test Kits, Thermal Test Document, Thermal head development)
  • Bring up/CPU checkouts (DAP power measurements, Tmon sensor checks, model correlation checks)

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience leading a small team
  • Willing to be creative and able to handle fluid designs
    Experience with system design from concept, production, and end of life.
  • Experience with CAD(SolidWorks and PDM), power supplies, metal fabrication tools, major OS(Linux/Windows), and strong understanding of thermals(Expert in OpenFoam/Flotherm/IcePak).

PREFERRED ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering with industry experience
