Server Stress Software Developer

 

This is not a new grad position.

 

THE ROLE:

Technical, hands-on engineer responsible for developing and deploying stress software for server post-Si validation. This individual will be primarily responsible for interfacing with server validation architects, server validation teams, and design teams to assess requirements and existing coverage gaps to develop new stress software and infrastructure to provide best in class coverage on server processors.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop various stress software and validation infrastructure to be used across all AMD Server products. 
  • Development and support for stress applications used test validation memory interfaces/subsystems.
  • Develop infrastructure and content to stress PCI-Express and CXL interfaces.

 

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience with PC architecture and microprocessor cores
  • Understanding of modern x86 microprocessor architecture, x86 assembly, and Server platform architecture
  • Deep knowledge of the Linux operating system (applications, drivers, kernel)
  • Understanding multiple CPU interfaces (ex: DDR, PCIe)
  • Experience developing Linux-based stress software and infrastructure, including application, driver, library, and kernel development
  • Post-Si validation test plan and test development experience
  • Debug skills at system level, from application level to kernel
  • Experience with programming / scripting language (C/C++, Python)
  • Must be a self-starting team player with excellent communication skills who can work with minimal guidance
  • Strong verbal and written English communication skills

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Development and debug experience with Windows operating systems
  • Validation expertise in PCIe protocol is a plus
  • Experience with x86 core validation (methodologies and tools)
  • Self-organizing and the ability multitask based on priorities

 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical/Computer Engineering or Computer Science related
  • 15+ years of experience in server validation debug and software development.
