SILICON DESIGN ENGINEER

 

THE ROLE:

AMD is looking for innovative engineers. This is a position for a valued member of the local Data Fabric Team, working in collaboration with global teams for planning and design state-of-the-art next generation integrated circuits.

This is an opportunity to work with great people on bleeding edge technologies that impacts the entire AMD portfolio of products, including traditional servers, high performance computing, client desktop & laptop PCs, machine intelligence, graphics, console gaming, embedded, and customer-specific applications.

 

THE PERSON:

A good candidate should be innovative, collaborative, meticulous and curious; should have a passion for modern, complex processor architecture and digital design in general. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, willingness to learn and readiness to take on problems should be part of candidate’s profile.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Own specific digital design tasks in the team, schedule and forecast assigned work.
  • Complete assigned digital design blocks in timely manner at the best quality, ensuring all supplied data are reviewed and milestone requirements are met.
  • Work closely with the team and contribute to all stages of the design flows.
  • Communicate clearly with various teams, with engineer staff, to ensure all requirements are understood / achieved.

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Very good understanding of digital circuits -both combinational & sequential-; the ability to synthesize small circuitry like adders, counters...
  • Good knowledge of Verilog HDL is highly desirable.
  • Good understanding of programming principles – experience with TCL & C/C++ is preferred.
  • Basic understanding of microcontrollers micro-architecture and how such devices can be interfaced with various peripherals like memories, sensors, converters...
  • Fast learner, willing to continue improve current skills & to embrace new ones.
  • Familiar with basic Linux tools -awk/sed/vim… & regular expressions- is an advantage.
  • Experience using EDA tools, like ones from Synopsys, Cadence… is a plus.
  • Knowledge about advanced technology nodes is a plus.

 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in engineering or RELATED field
