SENIOR DESIGN ENGINEER
THE ROLE:
This is an exciting opportunity to join the innovative and multi-award winning team that has developed the RF data converter sub-system, including direct-RF digital signal processing, around which Xilinx Zync® Ultrascale+™ RFSoC is built. As part of the Analog and Digital-RF design group you will be working on leading-edge digital communications developments in an advanced mixed-signal environment using the latest 7nm and 16nm FinFET CMOS processes.
The role includes the design, implementation and verification of digital logic including extensive digital signal processing functionality, to support wireless communications standards such as 5G telephony, LTE and WiFi as well as radar and other applications. Our multi-cultural team is based in our European design centres at Dublin and Cork in Ireland.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Front-end RTL design experience in a modern IC / ASIC design environment
- Knowledge of digital signal processing fundamentals
- Good knowledge of modern digital verification techniques
- Good awareness of physical implementation constraints on design and design optimization
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Excellent problem solving skills
- Ability to work well as part of a collaborative multi-site interdisciplinary team
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
- Knowledge of tools and design flows such as synthesis, CDC checking, STA, DFx, power estimation and optimization.
- Experience in high speed wireless communications
- Experience of Matlab / Octave algorithm development and modelling
- System Verilog, constrained random verification, UVM.
- Experience of designing on the analogue / digital boundary
- Experience of power management techniques / UPF
- Technical team leadership experience
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in computer engineering/Electrical Engineering with at least 5 years' experience
