Job Role and Responsibility: AMD, Inc., is hiring Silicon Design Engineer to AMD, Inc., is hiring Silicon Design Engineer to research, design, develop, and/or test electronic components and systems for semiconductor and related device manufacturing, employing knowledge of electronic theory. Job Duties: Contribute to the definition, specification, and communication of SoC microprocessors and related personal computing technologies. This is a cross functional role that has visibility and dependency across the full breadth of SoC technology and the full production life cycle. Analyze and understand architectural logic designs from a software programming model perspective. Work on problems of moderate scope where analysis of data requires a review of a variety of factors including schedule and stakeholder expectations. Manage defects, dependencies, content, and quality of complex assets – documentation, web, and data. Definition tasks include gathering information from a wide range of parties inside and outside of the SoC design team, managing microprocessor and SoC behavioral definitions, driving tradeoffs between parties, and helping to mitigate design processor issues. Apply knowledge of engineering principles, best practices, and technologies to the design, development, and testing of various AMD products.

Qualifications: Degree required
Master’s degree in computer engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Electronics Engineering. Foreign equivalent degree accepted.
Qualifications: Amount and type of experience required: None
Specific skills required: The following skills are required:
Position requires education or experience with the following technologies and/or skills:

  • Familiarity with microprocessors and PC/SoC architecture
  • Software development/debug experience
  • Knowledge of scripting languages such as Perl or Python.

Employer will accept skills gained in furtherance of graduate-level degree via coursework, projects, internship, research, etc. Skills may be gained concurrently.
